Skardu Valley and Deosai Tour — 5 Days, 2027 All-Inclusive
The Skardu & Deosai Tour combines two of Pakistan's most extraordinary places in one 5-day, 4-night adventure — the mountain city of Skardu and the vast, otherworldly plateau of Deosai National Park.
Skardu
Skardu sits at 2,500 m in the upper Indus Valley. Visit Kharpocho Fort above the Indus–Shigar confluence, the brilliant Satpara Lake, Upper Kachura, the Sarfaranga cold desert, and the restored Shigar Fort Heritage Hotel.
Deosai — The Land of Giants
About 30km from Skardu by 4x4, Deosai is one of the highest plateaus on earth, averaging around 4,000 m. From mid-June to October it becomes endless wildflower meadows, glacial streams and open skies. Sheosar Lake (around 4,142 m) is a pristine glacial mirror, and Himalayan brown bears — recovered from fewer than 20 in the early 1990s to several dozen today — are often spotted foraging nearby.
Wildlife: Himalayan brown bear · Tibetan wolf · golden marmot · golden eagle · Himalayan ibex.

Why Karakoram Venture
Because the people who take you up this mountain are from it. Our guides grew up in these valleys, and they are our own team — not a booking desk handing you to whoever is cheapest that week. Every one of them holds a guide licence from DTS Gilgit-Baltistan and the Federal DTS, renewed each year, and worked at least five years in the region before applying for it. Most also hold Wilderness First Aid.
Because the safety is real, and we will name it rather than imply it. A satellite phone travels in every camp, we hold established helicopter-rescue contacts for this region, and we tell you exactly which travel insurance to carry. Budget operators cut precisely these things, because you cannot see them on a web page.
Because the price is honest. Local infrastructure is why $650 per person covers the trip from Islamabad rather than a stripped-down base rate. Exactly what it includes — and the handful of things it does not — is set out above.
